I. Senior Accountant
Job Description

New Var is looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant, who will help build a world-class financial team in New Var. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the ideal candidate must have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, constantly changing and high-tech environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end close process including preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliations, various other account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

• Complete full cycle AP procedures, including employee expense reports and company credit card payment activities, in accordance with company and GAAP policies.

• Process semi-monthly payroll and reconcile revenue and expenditure reports against company financials and internal reports.

• Support the year-end audit, preparation of tax returns, tax planning, and other external reporting requirements.

• Support companyˊs efforts to establish appropriate internal controls and implement new policies and procedures.

• Assist in implementation of cloud-based accounting system.

• Support the companyˊs management team in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance .

• CPA with Big 4 (or similar) experience preferred.

• 4+ years of experience in accounting including all aspects of general ledger, payroll and month-end closing.

• Strong working knowledge of GAAP.

• Expertise in payroll software and cloud-based accounting services preferred.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office software.

ii. Partnership Manager

As Partnership Manager, you will manage a portfolio of universities and institutions, working closely with them to build trusting relationships, proactively understanding their context and concerns, and helping them to achieve their goals. You will contact with a range of stakeholders from senior leadership to instructors and project managers. Key to your work is the ability to demonstrate and ensure NewVar products' value to the institutions, while shaping a strategy for the partnership that drives long-term engagement. You will need to effectively channel the voice of our partners into the larger framework and direction of our organization. We are rapidly changing the global landscape of libraries, and you will need to adapt and learn quickly how to thrive in this dynamic environment. The focus is simple: work well with partner institutions to ensure that millions of students, teachers, researchers, librarians and so on can access New Varˊs high-quality content, which can better be used to their researches.

• Ensure that the institutions and their relevant contacts have appropriate knowledge and context of our platform, policies and projects.

III. Sales Representative

• Develop e-book platform project and vision.

• Oversee application and development across multiple platforms.

• Secure necessary digital rights for all intellectual assets.

• Prepare e-book budget & forecasting for approval.

• Prepare e-book sales estimates for procurement.

• Research on new products and trends in digital publishing.

• Manage design and marketing of new product offerings.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.

• 3+ years of working experience in sales or in event programming.

• Experience specifically related to book publishing skills, and overseas marketing / sales.

• Ability to manage opportunities, negotiate, find creative solutions, and close deals.

• Ability to draft, compose, and edit sales reports.

IV. Pressman
Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently make ready and operate the multi-color press.

• Examine the job order to determine print quantity, stock specs, colors, coatings and any special printing instructions.

• Examine offset printing plates for visual defects, correct these defects or have the plates remade.

• Pack plate and blanket cylinders to manufacturer's specifications, and check them with blanket gauges.

• Measure paper thickness and adjust nips between blanket and impression cylinders accordingly.

• Examine printed copies for ink density, mark position on paper and do registration throughout any press run, making adjustments whenever necessary.

• Remove and replace worn rollers and adjust pressure between rollers of press by using hand tools.

Key Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1+ years of experience as pressman

• KBA press experience

• Cooperative and be able to work in a team environment.

V. Computer Systems Analyst
Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and document online access and reading requirements of our academic institution customers and detail design of the software for full understanding of customers’ academic needs and use those requirements to design system applications.

• Examine and evaluate each customer’s unique requirements and communicate the individualized needs of each customer to our software developers to customize our digital archives.

• Use advanced knowledge in indexing, searching, and sequencing techniques to make analysis and suggestion to improve the recall rate and accuracy of our search engine.

• Ability to assist IT department with ensuring Hardware and software standardization and working properly.

• Research and compile the necessary requirements projects and make feasibility report , which include analyst costs for software systems, hardware systems.

• Maintain and upgrade existing system/projects by choosing and using updated hardware and software technology

• Schedule and review all requirements, assumptions, supporting documentation and the initial cost intervals and release to the requesting customer.

• Use advanced knowledge of software development life cycle to maintain close communication with our software developers to ensure timely delivery of system updates and revisions for excellent customer service.

• Provide project timeline estimates, Design Documents, Traceability Metrics, UTPs (Unit test plan), UTRs (Unit Test Results) for every CR (Change Request).

• Make suggestions to improve our database performance and user friendliness.

• Provide training to our customers as needed for proper access and use of our database and author instruction manuals.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or information technology.

• Three years’ computer system analyst or related experience.
